Let's play catch up

Oh hello there.  Long time no blog.  Seriously, it's been 11 months.  How have you been?  I've been alright, I suppose.  Just working a lot.  The days seem to run together... kinda like Stan's here:

But my breaks in monotony come from vacations rather than Coronas.  (slightly more expensive than a six-pack... but exponentially more fun!)
And it turns out I do have a couple of things to share from these past 11 months.  Let's start from the beginning, shall we?  Shortly after our super fun trip to Mexico, it was time to fly up to North Carolina for my big brother's wedding!!
I lucked out and got to take a few pics.  :)  They are really cute and I am so thrilled to have a new sister-in-law.  The Walters fam is a rather 'male-heavy' clan... and Lisa is a wonderful addition that will help us girls tilt the scale a bit.

And she has an identical twin sister.  How fun is that?!

Bobby impressed everyone with his photography skills by nailing this shot.
That's right.  He's not only handsome... he's good with a DSLR.  swoon.

Skip ahead a few months...
My little girl turned two!!  Don't you just want to kiss that face?

It still amazes me that I was once a person saying "I don't really want a dog".  I had never had one before, you see.  But I really feel like she opened up a part of my heart that I had never used before.  Who else could throw up on my favorite rug and have me more concerned about her belly ache than the mess she just made?  I assure you friends... the list is short.
What else, what else.  Oh, our 2 year anniversary of course!
In addition to the sheer madness of never owning a dog, I had also never been to Washington DC.  A trip you're basically predestined at birth to take once you reach the 5th grade (so long as you have served your extremely important role as a member of the Safety Patrol).  Bright orange sash, I still mourn the fact that we never had our time together.  But I'm getting side tracked.
My husband took me to our nation's capital so 1. I could finally see for myself all of the historic glory and 2. because I was honestly starting to fear that America might disown me one day if I never made the pilgrimage.
And we had SO MUCH FUN!

Have you ever been on a Segway?  Bobby was hesitant at first because it's one of the nerdiest looking things you can do.  But it turned out to be our most favorite part of the trip, I think.  We used City Segway Tours and they were great!

The entire city... state... what on earth do you call it?!... district? was so beautiful and picturesque.
Plus, I got to put on my planner-on-crack hat and schedule our days basically down to the minute.  A true treat since in real life Bobby likes to have a little downtime (which is my polite way of saying he plays a lot of Call of Duty).  ;)
So by the end of our 5 day vacation we were exhausted but oh so fulfilled.
There are a few more Duffin adventures to speak of, but frankly after my 11 month blog hiatus I think I may have reached my limit for today.  So let's meet back here 7 million years from now and we'll dive back in!
